What is the Movie Value Pass? What do I need for a membership?

The Hollywood Movie Value Pass (MVP) is a great way for you to save money on your rentals! When you purchase the Movie Value Pass, you'll get most New Release rentals and ALL Hollywood Film Library® rentals FREE. You can stay in the program as long as you want; renewal is every 30 days. Simply visit your local store to sign up; currently we do not offer online registration and payment.

How much does the MVP Basic cost?

The MVP Basic fee is $14.99 per month (plus any applicable taxes). We will conveniently bill your credit card for the membership fees every 30 days, until you request a cancellation. Your membership will continue to the end of the membership cycle for which you already paid (no refunds will be given for unused days).

Please ensure that we have your current address on file so that we may notify you of any changes to the program!

As an MVP Basic member, how long can I keep my movies?

Basic MVP movies rent for 5 days. Movies held beyond the 5-day rental period incur additional rental charges in accordance with our membership terms and conditions.

What is MVP Premium?

If you don’t like due dates, this membership option is for you! For only $24.99 per month, you may rent ANY movie in the store with no due dates. This option is good on any 2 rentals at one time, or you may choose a plan at $29.99 that allows you 3 rentals at one time. Like the MVP Basic, we will conveniently bill your credit card for the membership every 30 days, until you request a cancellation. And again, say goodbye to due dates and late fees!

Can I sign up for the MVP programs at any store?

We recommend that you sign up at the store that you visit the most, since the membership is not transferable to other locations. However, a few stores may not be participating in the MVP program, so check with your Store Manager to be sure.

Do I have to sign anything?

Yes, all that you need to sign is a membership agreement that will automatically print when the MVP is purchased at the register.

Is there a time commitment?

The MVP automatically renews every 30 days until you request cancellation of your membership. There is no long-term obligation.

How does the auto-renewal process work and when will my credit card or debit card be charged?

The credit card or debit card you provide at the time of purchase will automatically be charged every 30 days in order to renew the MVP program on your account.

For example, if you have a join date of October 1, your card will be charged a renewal fee on October 31, November 30, December 30, etc, and every 30 days thereafter.

How does the cancellation process work?

You may cancel your enrollment in the MVP program at any time; however, you will not receive a refund for remaining days in the month. Cancellation simply cancels your next auto-renewal and removes you from the program. You may request cancellation at your store.

How will I know which titles are included in the MVP program?

New Release titles designated with a Movie Value Pass “Free” sticker are included in the MVP Basic program. All titles in our Film Library® section (all non-New Release movie titles) are included in the MVP program, even though these movies do not have the Movie Value Pass “Free” sticker. MVP Premium members may choose any title for rental, whether or not it has a sticker. For an online list of current New Releases included in the MVP program, click here.

How long will I have to wait for a New Release to become eligible for the MVP Basic program?

Because New Releases are so popular, they become eligible for the program a little later – usually within four to six weeks of their release dates. Some titles may be eligible sooner and other titles may take longer, so keep checking back for your favorites! However, there is no waiting if you are an MVP Premium member – choose any New Release, any time.

Can I still get the Movies & Munchies combo?

Of course! If you are taking home 2 free New Release rentals as part of MVP, you can still pick up 1 soda, 2 popcorn bags and any one $1.50 candy item for just $2.99. If you have two New Releases that are not eligible for the Movie Value Pass, then you can still get the regular $10.99 Movies & Munchies combo.

Will additional rental charges be automatically charged to my credit card?

No. The credit card that is provided when you enroll in the MVP program will only be used for auto-renewals.

Are games included in the Movie Value Pass?

No. Only movies are offered in either MVP program.

Can I purchase the MVP without an auto-renewal option?

Yes. To select a non-auto renewal option, you must buy a 3-month Movie Value Pass with either cash, credit card or debit card. Ask at your local store for the 3-month MVP pricing.

Can I buy MVP as a gift?

Not at this time, but a Hollywood Video gift card is a great option! Just load it with $45 and that will cover the price of a 3-month Movie Value Pass Basic membership (without auto renewal), and it makes a great gift!
