Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept all movies for trade?
We take more than 20,000 movie titles for trade, far more than any of our
major competitors. As long as your movie is not unrated, X-Rated
or NC-17, is in good condition and has the original studio packaging, chances
are good you can trade it in for credit! We accept both VHS and DVD titles.
How do you determine your trade-in prices?
Trade-in credit is based on product availability within our store. A title that
our store needs will qualify for a higher trade credit. DVDs earn an average
credit of $3 and VHS titles earn an average of 50 cents.
Is there a limit on how many items I can trade in?
Yes. There is a limit of 25 items per day and no more than five copies of any
one title.
How can I use my Movie Trading credit?
Movie Trading credits can be used for anything in our store, including movie
rentals, movie purchase, gift cards, additional rental charges, and
concessions.
Can I use my Movie Trading credit at another store?
By redeeming your Movie Trading credits at the store where you trade, you may
purchase a gift card that can be used at any other Hollywood store.
Can I use my Movie Trading credit at Game Crazy?
Hollywood Video and Game Crazy are separately operated, so credit on your
Hollywood Video account may only be used at Hollywood Video.
Can I receive cash for my trade-ins?
At Hollywood Video, we cannot offer cash for trades, but we do offer store
credit for other purchases. You may use your trade credit the same day, or save
it on your account for a later purchase. You can use Movie Trading credit for
anything in the stores, including gift cards.
When will Movie Trading end?
Movie Trading is here to stay! The ability to trade in VHS and DVD movies for
credit is another service Hollywood is proud to offer its guests.
Is Movie Trading in all Hollywood Video stores?
No. But, most stores are participating in the program.
Terms and conditions apply. See your
Hollywood Video store for details.
