Hollywood Video's Audience Choice Winners!
It’s February in the Rose City and you know what that meansit’s time for the Portland International Film Festival! Now in it’s 31st year, the festPIFF, as the locals call itfeatures dozen of movies from dozens of countries. There are works by established directors, like Portland’s own Gus Van Sant (Paranoid Park), Taiwan’s Hou Hsiao-Hsien (Flight of the Red Balloon), and Russia’s Alexander Sokurov (Alexandra). And there’s new directors making a splash too, such as Great Britain’s Martin McDonagh with his Colin Farrell vehicle In Bruges and actress Helen Hunt, making her directorial debut with Then She Found Me. There’s star power at work too, with the likes of Kate Beckinsale (Snow Angels), Audrey Tautou (Priceless), and Colm Meaney (Kings) all gracing the silver screen. PIFF is always a movie lover’s dream and this year’s fest keeps that tradition alive.
