With a minimum commitment of $1 million, Hollywood Video is brightening the lives of seriously ill children through Hollywood Video Starlight Sites™, Fun Center Sponsorships, and an employee volunteer force of Community Stars.
Hollywood Video Starlight Sites
Hollywood Video Starlight Sites provide an escape for seriously ill children. From watching movies and playing games, to relaxing with friends and family, these rooms offer a welcome respite from the rigors of ongoing medical treatment.
The flagship Hollywood Video Starlight Site opened in July 2003 at Legacy Emanuel Children's Hospital in Portland. Our second site opened February 2004 at Shriners Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles. Our third site opened in February 2005 at the Memorial Hermann Children's Hospital in Houston (Get a virtual tour of this site). Our fourth Starlight Site will open at Philadelphia's St. Christopher's Hospital for Children in the fall of 2006.
Fun Centers
When children are too ill to leave their hospital rooms, mobile Fun Centers are welcome bedside visitors. These high-tech units make the joys of entertainment easy and fun, while helping to melt away the long hours associated with hospital stays.
Hollywood Video is sponsoring Fun Centers across the nation. Fun Centers come equipped with a Nintendo GameCube™, Sharp® AQUOS™ Liquid Crystal Television, and DVD players. A library of DVDs and games is also included with the donation. We have donated over 135 units to date!
Hollywood Video Community Stars™
Hollywood Video partners help bring the healing powers of entertainment and friendship to ill children across the country by hosting Hollywood Video Movie Nights™ and Game Crazy Game Nights™ in their local hospitals.
With over 26,000 partners nationwide, Hollywood Video is dedicated to improving the lives of seriously ill children through the power of distractive entertainment.
